Quite, compact, and lightweight are good enough reasons to pay attention to a portable generator. But what if you get a cut in prices and fuel efficiency? You’d probably go for it with more enthusiasm! This is exactly why we thought of doing an A-iPower SUA2000iV generator review, going for the much loved SUA2000iv model.
To have a better idea of how it performs, we analyzed the features in terms of its engine, fuel efficiency, run time, control panel, noise level, convenience of use, and much more. Starting from Cell phones, radios, fans and lights, cooking appliances, and inflator pumps, it says it is super easy with sensitive electronics and 12V batteries too. How does it perform so well then? Let’s find out!

A-iPower SUA2000iv Generator Review: Performance and Features.
Here are 8 of the most important considerations we paid attention to:
Housed in Ontario, California, the designs and sourcing of supplies are possibly originated in China. In terms of looks, it is quite modern, with a similar black and red housing as the Honda 2200i generators. The housing has a part to play in reducing noise levels, and the sturdy plastic built with an ergonomic handle makes it quite like most contemporary portable generators. The build quality, in general, is decent for the low price.
At 50% load, you get 8-9 hours of run time and a full charge, half of it. So, when it comes to fuel economy, this is a good generator. The fuel consumption is not more than 6.5 KWH/gallon, which is highly efficient, considering how much you are paying. So, if Chinese origin was making you skeptical, time to watch the performance, and readjust your thoughts.
There is no electricity starting on the model, but that is quite understandable since most generators with this size and specs usually have a manual recoil to start with. It is not really hard to start, but we have seen that it requires a little effort to go all the way up to the choke position on the dial. But this is easily solvable when you only go up to midway between run and choke.
It has cast-iron sleeves on the 79cc Senci engine, which is known for its excellent versatility and hardness, already making it an engine of choice. Upon starting, it generates 2000 watts while as it continues to run, the power steadies at 1600 watts. Although imported from Asia, the engine was developed in the USA and, surprisingly or not, matches the most excellent quality inverter generator engines. CARB also certifies it.
You also get parallel capability, a low HD inverter power, and an eco throttle on the model. The latter makes sure that the RPM is less when your current load demand is lower than a quarter percent. And the parallel capability ensures that you can connect multiple generators with the SUA2000iv for increased power output.
Considering the 3 outlets, we get a 12VDC (with a USB adapter), an L5-30R 30A/120V (with an RV adapter), and a single 50-20R 20A/120V, this is quite impressive. The setup also includes a circuit breaker for the 120Vs and warns you when it comes to overload and low oil in the tank.
It is certainly not the quietest model out there. At 50% load, you get a 58 dBa, which is the maximum when compared to Honda 2200i. So as you increase the load with the SUA2000iv, it gets noisier. At 75% load, the noise is more than normal conversation noise and stands at 68 dBa. At full load, it may scream with loud noises. So, if you were out camping with this one, you may hear the generator’s noises more than what your partner or friends are saying.
With the carrying handle on top and a mere weight of 46 lbs in a generator, this is quite compact and lightweight. This makes it perfectly portable, and you may even walk around with it if you’re not traveling great distances on foot.
Convenience and Security
Other than the portability, the built-in fuel gauge and the light indicators are essential features of convenience. It allows you to check for load and fuel levels and be ready for what to do next. And if you can’t find what to do next, the automatic low-oil shutdown and the circuit breaker will make sure you’re at least safe
After the A-ipower generator reviews and researches, here’s what we think:
- Fuel efficient.
- Carb-compliant as well as EBA-approved.
- Comes with an RV adapter and a dual-port USB adapter so you don’t need purchasing these.
- Safe and secure with low-oil shutdown and circuit breaking in overload.
- Safe with sensitive electronics.
- Noisy on full load.
- Needs an electric start.
How many appliances can I run on a 2000 watt generator?
Things such as a deep freezer with a microwave or electric cooker, or a couple of smaller appliances.
In which country are the iPOWER generators made?
Possibly sourced from Asia and developed in the USA.
Will a 2000 watt generator be enough for a good pump?
Obviously, it can keep the pump running.
Will a 2000 watt inverter generator be enough to run a refrigerator?
This brings us to the end of the SUA2000iv as an A-iPower SUA2000iV generator review. It has some decent features, and its performance implies fuel efficiency, portability, and parallel connections as its bests. The engine is well-performing too.
So if you wanted to purchase an affordable inverter generator that has quite a lot of the specs of the contemporary, expensive ones, this might be it!
